Anticipation is high for the forthcoming full-length from Temples, totally heightened by last month's awesome performance in the KEXP Gathering Space. While we have to keep waiting 'til next year for Volcano to hit stores, today we've got a remix of the track "Certainty" by Scottish rockers Franz Ferdinand. Temples frontman James Bagshaw shared, "When someone is remixing a song you have a certain idea of how you think it will sound, but Franz Ferdinand have really turned the track on its head, arrangement and even genre! I don't think any of us expected such an electronic reimagined version of the song! It's wonderful." Alex Kapranos of FF adds, "There were so many dimensions to this song when we first heard it. Morrissey is making sure fans will please, please, please get what they want. The Smiths are releasing a new 7" single! While it will feature never-before-heard music, the songs are ones we know and love: a demo mix of “The Boy With the Thorn in His Side” off The Queen is Dead, and an unused version of "Rubber Ring" which was originally released as the b-side to the 1985 original "The Boy..." single, and then reappeared on the Louder Than Bombs compilation. No release date yet, but Morrissey has shared the cover art he designed in classic Smiths style, featuring Oscar-nominated British actor Albert Finney. [Consequence of Sound]

As Kanye West continues to get some much needed rest in a Los Angeles mental hospital, his Californian neighbors Local Natives have shared a cover of one of his songs. Hear their take below on "Ultralight Beam" from West's most-recent LP The Life of Pablo. The band recorded the cover back in July, but via a Tweet, said they're sharing it as we "need the prayer of peace & serenity now more than ever." [Pitchfork]

French electro-duo Justice unveil a new video today, and they've lured Academy Award and BAFTA Award winning actress Susan Sarandon to star in it! For the song "Fire," director Pascal Teixeira captures the three artists speeding through the desert in a convertible. It's very Thelma & Louise, a film that celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. Via a press release, Teixeira says the idea came to him during a “hot summer afternoon” of “collectively daydreaming about washing a car.” Watch below.
