  • We’re weeks away from the release of the new Cloud Nothings album, Life Without Sound, and here’s another sneak peek with a video for the track “Internal World.” Director Jonny Look provides an instructional clip from the “Department of Human Being Assimilation,” which may or may not help the lizard people who will inevitably walk among us, amiright? Life Without Sound will be out January 27th on Carpark Records, and the boys have just been booked for a KEXP in-studio, Friday, February 17th at 1:00 PM PT, and KEXP presents them two nights at The Crocodile, Friday, February 17th and Saturday, February 18th. • And we’ve got a title! Last week, we shared news of the forthcoming Spoon full-length. Today we learn, it will be titled Hot Thoughts. The band themselves confirmed the title on SiriusXM’s Debatable program, adding that they’ll be playing SXSW this year, in their hometown of Austin, Texas. A possible release date of March 17th has been mentioned, but neither Matador Records nor the band have confirmed. [ Consequence of Sound]
  • We’ve got more new music to share from UK psych band Temples, and it’s not a song they performed last fall in the KEXP Gathering Space! Check out the track “Strange or Be Forgotten” from their forthcoming full-length Volcano, out March 3rd via Fat Possum. We’ll get to hear more of these new songs live when the boys play Neumos on Saturday, February 25th. [ Under the Radar]

  • And another sneak peek at an upcoming full-length: check out “No Known Drink or Drug” by Japandroids below. The Vancouver-based duo will release their third album, Near to the Wild Heart of Life, January 27 via Anti-. Catch them on Saturday, March 18th at the Neptune Theatre. [ Pitchfork]
