  • This past Tuesday, we aired an exclusive in-studio session with Regina Spektor where she performed a gorgeous live version of the song "Black and White." Today, we've got an official video for the track, spotlighting Spektor performing in Chicago's closed down Uptown Theater as a ballerina dances. (We should've recreated this with DJ Larry Rose.) Watch below, and find the original on her most recent release, Remember Us to Life, out now on Warner Bros. We hope to share video from her KEXP session soon! [ Under the Radar ]

  • Oh, the terrible, terrible irony. Today, it was reported that Paul “H.R.” Hudson of legendary D.C. punk band Bad Brains has, indeed, a... uh, bad brain. Hudson suffers from a neurological condition called SUNCT that causes severe headaches. He's been coping with "a cocktail of pharmaceuticals," but on February 21st, he will undergo a badly-needed brain surgery. His wife and caretaker Lori Carns shares on his GoFundMe page: "The headaches come randomly, with no warning, at all hours of the day and night; but for him, they are much worse at night. The intensity of the nighttime headaches is so great that he yells, cries out, groans, and sobs — repeatedly, every few minutes, for most of the night." KEXP sends our love and wishes for a successful surgery and easy recovery. [ Pitchfork ]

  • Husband-wife duo Tennis share a surprisingly slinky video for the single "Modern Woman" off their forthcoming full-length, Yours Conditionally. Listen/watch below. Directors Luca Venter and Kelia Anne spotlight vocalist Alaina Moore in a dramatic sea of mirrors. Yours Conditionally can be yours on March 10th via Mutually Detrimental. KEXP presents the band on Tuesday, February 28th at Neumos. [ Stereogum ]

  • And one more new video, this time from UK trio London Grammar. We shared the first single "Rooting For You" last month; now hear the track "Big Picture," produced by Jon Hopkins, a frequent Brian Eno collaborator. The video was directed by Sophie Muller, who has worked with both Beyoncé and Coldplay. Watch below. Details on the sophomore LP are still shrouded in secrecy, but we hope to share more details soon.
