It hasn't even been a week since the release of their latest full-length, but Japandroids are adding to their discography with a limited edition 7-inch vinyl. Side A is "Near to the Wild Heart of Life," the title track of the new LP, and on side B is this cover of the Talking Heads’ 1977 single “Love → Building On Fire.” Listen below. Sydney, Australia-based band Middle Kids have landed, and are winning the U.S. over. Last night, they stopped by Conan to perform their single "Edge of Town," and today, they offer their self-titled debut EP, streaming in its entirety below. A physical copy comes out February 17th via Domino, and the band will be LIVE on KEXP next week, Tuesday, February 21st, with a show at Barboza later that night. [ Stereogum ]

Mark Kozelek is also streaming his new release: a Sun Kil Moon album titled Common as Light and Love Are Red Valleys of Blood, also out this Friday, February 17th. Hear it now via his website, accompanied by an interview conducted by Conor Oberst. The double-LP was inspired by "events from January to August of 2016 and how Mark processed it all while traveling." A digital version is out this Friday with a CD edition out February 24th via his own Caldo Verde label. [ Under the Radar ]

Via his Mount Eerie moniker, local artist Phil Elverum shares another track from his forthcoming full-length, A Crow Looked At Me, his first new music since the loss of his wife Geneviève Castrée to pancreatic cancer last summer. Today, he shares the track "Ravens" via a beautiful video created using footage both he and Geneviève shot together. Watch below, if your heart can take it. (Spoiler alert: it can't.) Mount Eerie will also embark on a west coast tour, starting in Oregon this April. No Seattle date, but you can trek to Olympia for a April 18th performance at Obsidian.
