  • Now in its third season, the Amazon.com original series The Man in the High Castle has an excellent soundtrack thanks to Danger Mouse and producer Sam Cohen. This spring, those songs are being collected for Resistance Radio, a compilation featuring tracks from Angel Olsen, Beck, the Shins, MGMT’s Andrew VanWyngarden, Karen O, Kevin Morby, Grandaddy, and more, covering songs from the 1960's. (The show takes place in 1962, like the Philip K. Dick book it's based on.) Below, you can hear Sharon Van Etten's take on the eerie Skeeter Davis single "The End of the World." Resistance Radio is out April 7th via Danger Mouse’s 30th Century Records. [ Pitchfork ]

Could that be the follow-up to 2014's This Is All Yours? We'll see. [ Consequence of Sound ]

  • A new album from The Shins is about a week away, and the Portland-via-Albuquerque band have shared a new single. Stream the track "Painting a Hole" below. The guys are playing this year’s Sasquatch! Music Festival, 5/26-5/28 at The Gorge in George, Washington. The band’s fifth LP Heartworms will be out March 10th via Aural Apothecary/Columbia.
