Maybe you were in the Gathering Space for our Bed-In for Peace or saw a public In-studio performance by Minneapolis underground hip hop legend P.O.S. or Austra from Montreal. You could have been at home listening to the fifth annual International Clash Day or enjoying Banned in the USA during your morning commute.
Spring Drive is a great time to donate and ensure that all of this magic continues for many years to come.
These kinds of events and special programming are only possible with the help of our amazing donors and volunteers. One of them, Alexis, was championing KEXP before she even lived in Seattle. Here, she explains the grass roots way she promoted KEXP to her friends. She also talks about why the station matters so much to her.
When I lived out of state I would come to Seattle for KEXP shows and events, always grabbing a handful of KEXP pins. I would go home and throw them in a drawer in my kitchen and every time I had a party I would ask my guests if they knew about the station. If they hadn’t I would tell them “listen and donate!”
I can’t imagine my music universe without KEXP and have known for years that if there is anything I can do to help keep this station on the air I want to help. Good times and bad, donating has always been in my budget.
I feel like everyone can find something here that is unique, relevant and irreplaceable when it comes to music and the only way to keep that alive is to donate. As an avid music fan, I need that in my life and need to know that I have done everything in my power to keep in going for myself and future generations.
Just like Alexis, you are an essential part of what makes KEXP so special. Please take a moment and donate to KEXP and power the place where the music matters.
