  • Following what sounds like a really fun homecoming at SXSW, Spoon have shared a slew of new North American tour dates. Seattle is missing from the list, but there’s an interesting gap before a September 2nd date in Vancouver, hmmm… Bumbershoot, perhaps? Rumors have yet to be confirmed, so stay tuned. • The massive 5-disc album from The Magnetic Fields is out now. 50 Song Memoir features one song for every year of songwriter Stephin Merritt’s life, and today we’ve got a video to share for 1988 titled “’88 Ethan Frome.” The video features pencil drawings by illustrator Alexander Petrowsky (as if scribbled during a boring English class, as they discussed the 1911 Edith Wharton novella Ethan Frome, perhaps?), and was animated by John Erickson. Watch below. The band will play two nights in each city to play all 50 songs, and in Seattle, that’s Saturday, May 6th and Sunday, May 7th. [ Under the Radar ]

  • Today’s KEXP in-studio guest Craig Finn has been on the road in support of his latest We All Want The Same Things. (He and his band, the Uptown Controllers, play the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver, BC tonight.) During a recent visit to Canada’s The Strombo Show, he and band rolled out a cover of The Constantines’ track “Young Lions” off Shine A Light. (It’s a song Finn’s other band The Hold Steady have tackled on stage, as well.) Listen to it here, and watch The Hold Steady’s take below, from 2014. We All Want The Same Things is out this Friday, March 24th via Partisan. [ Stereogum ]

  • Run the Jewels spent their St. Patrick’s Day as guests on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Watch them perform the track “Legend Has It” off their self-released LP RTJ3. Afterwards, they gifted Fallon an exclusive RTJ St. Patrick’s Day t-shirt featuring the signature hands holding a shamrock beer mug. Watch below, and keep track of all these late night television highlights with KEXP’s TV Eye. [ Pitchfork ]
