  • UPDATE 12:00 PM PT: the first half of a track has been shared via BBC Radio 1; listen below.

LCD Soundsystem are releasing two new songs tonight, titled “Call the Police” and “American Dream”! No, we don't actually have the songs yet, but midnight EST (or 9:00 PM PST), both tracks will become available via digital platforms. On Facebook, founder/frontman James Murphy says, "I (James) mixed ‘American Dream’ at DFA Studios, and my friend Dave Sardy mixed ‘Call the Police’ at his sweet place in LA last week, and shuttled them quickly to the great Bob Weston (at Chicago Mastering Service) to master them so we could get them out today." The band are the musical guest this week on Saturday Night Live; let's see if they play these two tracks, or share a couple of others. [ Consequence of Sound ]

  • LCD aren't the only ones: Grizzly Bear have also returned with their first new music in five years, being released tonight... at midnight New Zealand time, which is now U.S. time. Check out the track "Three Rings" below, the first look at an upcoming new album, which has no title nor release date yet. The group's last release was 2012’s Shields. [ Spin ]

  • The always-fun !!! (Chk Chk Chk) share a new track via a video for "Dancing Is the Best Revenge." (They previously shared the single "The One 2.") In a press release, frontman Nic Offer says, "When we recorded 'Dancing Is the Best Revenge' I pitched up my voice, becoming Nicole Fayu in the studio -- much like Prince became Camille and Morrissey became Ann Coates. The groove felt like a strut or walk and I imagined it akin to drag or ballroom culture. After 'The One 2' video featured such strong dance performances, and was filmed in the historic LA venue Jalisco, we decided to give the song to some girls who could really walk the walk and perform the song as in the spirit of reinvention. We traded some outfits and makeup tips and they helped me become IRL Nicole Fayu. Dancing with them was a blast, and it was great to finally see the song walked. I have to admit, I'm not used to being out performed in a video. These ladies ignore a world that tells them who they should be - they take the stage, walking as whoever they want to be, and that's their best revenge. Maybe you'll never put on heels, maybe you'll never walk onstage, maybe you'll never be anyone else, but maybe this song/vid/story inspires you to try something you haven't before." Watch below. The new album, Shake The Shudder, will be out May 19th via Warp Records, and the band play The Crocodile on Wednesday, June 28th. [ Under the Radar ]
