Remember spending nights staying up watching MTV, waiting for your favorite video to come on? Over three decades after the network's launch and the official dawn of the format for mainstream audiences, music videos have continued to be a major way for fans to interact with music. The Northwest has added to the pantheon over the years, from Nirvana's anarchic pep rally to Macklemore's Goodwill shenanigans. That tradition is still alive and well in the region, as you'll find out at Videoasis on Wednesday,May 24, at 8:30 PM at the Northwest Film Forum.

Videoasis is an quarterly event curated by KEXP's Audioasis host DJ Sharlese alongside music video director Bobby McHugh. Each Videoasis showcase features videos from a wide array of Northwest artists, from Chastity Belt and Dude York to Porter Ray and Y La Bamba. This quarter's Videoasis is themed "Summer's Coming Soon" — drawing inspiration from the opening lines of DoNormaal's "Dime".

"Music videos are a perfect way to put a visual to a really great song, DJ Sharlese says. "Bobby and I are very excited to be part of this event. The curation of this is the most fun and we always sit next to each other and talk about the good parts of the videos. Seattle is amazing in so many ways and this is one of them."

Sharlese and Bobby have put together a formidable lineup of videos this year, featuring recent videos from:
