Broken Social Scene are releasing their highly anticipated new album Hug of Thunder this Friday, July 7th but, luckily for us, NPR is streaming it ahead of time. Seven years after last release, Forgiveness Rock Record, the album sees all 15 original members featured on the album, including Feist, Metric’s Emily Haines and James Shaw, Stars’ Amy Millan and Evan Cranley, Brendan Canning, and new addition Ariel Engle. We've already heard the tracks "Skyline," "Halfway Home," "Hug of Thunder," and "Stay Happy." Don't miss BSS when they roll through Seattle on Monday, October 23rd at the Neptune Theatre. Oklahoma indie rock band BRONCHO released Double Vanity last year and today they have a new single called "Get In My Car." The song is a sunny ode to spending time in your car, perfect for summer road trips or possibly an optimistic view of the increasing traffic in Seattle. BRONCHO also happen to be on the road supporting Double Vanity. You can catch them at the Sunset Tavern on Friday, September 8th. [ Stereogum ]

Chicago indie label Drag City has so far been holding out on releasing any of their music to streaming services but this weekend a handful of classic 90's releases from the label found their way onto to Apple Music, including Pavement’s Westing (By Musket and Sexant), Smog’s Red Apple Falls, Bonnie "Prince" Billy's I See A Darkness,The Red Krayola’s Coconut Hotel, Royal Trux’s Untitled, the Hey Drag City compilation, and Silver Jews’ American Water. Based on an Instagram post by Cults, it seems the band might be back together and have a new release on its way. The 20-second clip was posted on the Cults account this weekend along with some rather cult-y imagery. Some sleuthy fans Shazamed the clip and found it to be titled "Gilded Lily" off an album called Offering. No official statement has been made by the band yet. Their last full-length was 2013's Static, which was recorded in the aftermath of the duo's breakup. Since then, frontwoman Madeline Follin has been making music with her brother Richie James Follin.
