  • Frankie Rose has a new album being released this Friday, August 11 called Cage Tropical. Today she shared the third single from the album, along with a hazy video, “Dyson Sphere.” The video was directed by Daniel Patrick Carbone. Rose teamed up with producer Jorge Elbrecht (Tamaryn, Gang Gang Dance, No Joy, Violens) to work on Cage Tropical, which is said to be inspired by ’80s sci-fi films and follows up 2013’s Herein Wild. Catch Frankie Rose when she plays Barboza on Friday, September 29 with SPLASHH. [ Spin ]

  • Gorillaz shared the video for “Strobelite,” off of their latest album Humanz. The Peven Everett-featuring track is perfect for the club, which is why director Raoul Skinbeck took the animated band to the club to hang out with Vince Staples and Savages’ Jehnny Beth. Gorillaz will be in Seattle on Saturday, September 30 to play the Key Arena. [ Under the Radar ]

  • British grime artist Skepta‘s track “Hypocrisy” was released on SoundCloud last month and now we have a video to accompany it. Directed by Skepta and collaborator Matt Walker, the video features Skepta and a group of dancers on cartoonish set that eventually goes up in flames. [ FACT ]

  • Vampire Weekend bassist Chris Baio released his sophomore solo album Man Of The World at the end of June under the name BAIO. Today he’s shared a video for the album’s title track, which sees him travel the world via greenscreen. Directed by Baio and Scott Peters, Baio said of the video, “Using cutting-edge technology, Scott Peters and I were able to make a video that features places I’ve been (Lake Malawi, Rio, London) and others I have not (Patagonia, Niagara Falls). I’m particularly proud of the scene where I moonwalk on stage at Carnegie Hall and I believe the ending features the best Burj Khalifa scene since ‘Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol.’ Enjoy!” [ DIY Mag ]
