Phantogram have dropped the cinematic new video for the song "Funeral Pyre," off of last year's Three. Directed by Gianluca Minucci, the video takes place in a car slowly cruising through Los Angeles, documenting all the things seen out of the passenger window. Minucci describes the video as, "a phantasmagoric journey, from dawn to dusk, with people, sites, and situations of Los Angeles...the video is a phantom drive in a land of nowhere, where love meets grief, loneliness, violence, and desperation. It's a tragic, Pynchonian elegy, of a world destined to a destroying, but perhaps purifying fire. A descent to hell, the swan song of a city that celebrates its funeral pyre." Phantogram will be playing the Key Arena on Sunday, October 15th opening for Arcade Fire. [ Under the Radar ]

Beck is releasing his delayed 13th album Colors on October 13th and today he's unveiled its fourth single "Dear Life." The song follows "Wow," "Dreams," and "Up All Night." Colors follows 2014's Grammy Award-winning Morning Phase and was made completely and solely by Beck and producer Greg Kurstin. Beck will be in town tomorrow, Friday, August 25th, at Marymoor Park. Beach Slang frontman James Alex began playing solo shows last year under the moniker Quiet Slang and today he announced he's releasing an EP of Beach Slang songs that have been reworked and stripped down under the name. The debut 7" EP We Were Babies & We Were Dirtbags will be out October 20th on Polyvinyl, with an additional special cassette run on October 14th for Cassette Store Day. Alex has shared his rework of "Bad Art &Weirdo Ideas" from 2015's The Things We Do To Find People Who Feel Like Us. Beach Slang will play Chop Suey on Saturday, November 11th with Hannah Racecar and Dave Hause & The Mermaid. [ Pitchfork ]

The Flaming Lips don't do anything small and that's why we love them. For their video for "Almost Home (Blisko Domu)" they made a 10-minute sci-fi short film that includes car chases, flames, and a cryptic storyline involving someone called the "Kind of Love" that Wayne Coyne has to save from a woman who lives in a pool of water yet somehow holds a great deal of power. "Almost Home (Blisko Domu)" comes from the band's 14th studio album Oczy Mlody, released earlier this year. [ Rolling Stone ]

Montreal indie veterans Stars are coming back with a new album to be released this fall called There Is No Love In Fluorescent Light. They've shared a few tracks from it already, "Privilege," "We Called It Love," and "Fluorescent Light," and today they've released another called "Real Thing" which features the lead vocals of Stars' Amy Millan. Says the band of the album title, "Does no one fall in love under fluorescent light? Pretty sure that's not true, as many an office romance could attest. But as a statement in support of love's delusions, we will stand by it." There Is No Love In Fluorescent Light will be out October 13th via Last Gang. [ Under the Radar ]
