Bumbershoot 2017, Day Three: Smokey Brights

all photos by Dusty Henry

Closing out the KEXP stage on Sunday night, you couldn’t have asked for a better send off than Smokey Brights. The Seattle rock outfit wasted no time jumping right into what they do best: blaring killer guitar riffs and belting out infectious melodies that are sure to get people up and moving. This is a band with monstrous energy and they didn’t hold back for their performance at the Bumbershoot Music & Arts Festival. Each member was rapt into their instrument, mirroring their wild playing with some all-time great “guitar face” expressions. After three days of a festival, it’s understandable to be tired. But Smokey brights offered one shot of adrenaline for the ride home.
