  • Björk has announced a new single called “The Gate” that will be released digitally on September 18 and via a limited edition single-sided 12″ vinyl released on September 22. She announced the new album last month, which will reportedly be co-produced with her Vulnicura co-producer Arca. It will also include visuals from past collaborator Andrew Thomas Huang. She’s called the new album her “Tinder album” saying, “It’s about that search (for utopia) – and about being in love. Spending time with a person you enjoy on every level is obviously utopia, you know? I mean, it’s real. It’s when the dream becomes real.” [ NME ]

  • The score for the well-received film Good Time was done by experimental producer Oneohtrix Point Never (aka Daniel Lopatin) and includes a collaboration with Iggy Pop called “The Pure And The Damned.” The official music video for the song has been released and is a companion piece to the film it comes from. Directed by the Safdie Brothers and starring Robert Pattinson and Benny Safdie as their characters from the movie, the clip doesn’t recycle any footage from Good Time but features the two in a cabin in the woods, as well as a CGI Iggy Pop and a puppet wolf. The Good Time soundtrack is out now via Warp and the film is playing in theatres near you. [ Under the Radar ]

    • ’80’s Los Angeles Paisley Underground band The Dream Syndicate are releasing their first album in 29 years, after reuniting in 2012. Entitled How Did I Find Myself Here?, the album will be out this Friday, September 8 via Anti-. Today they’ve shared a new song off the album, “Filter Me Through You.” It’s a soft and jangly track reminiscent of their prior work. KEXP is bringing The Dream Syndicate to the Tractor Tavern on Saturday, September 30 with Eyelids. [ Stereogum ]

    • Underground rap supervillain and expert character inventor DOOM (fka MF Doom) has been releasing a new song every week via Adult Swim for a series of singles called The Missing Notebook Rhymes. He’s on his fourth week/track with “Notebook 04″ that features New York’s Kool Keith. The Missing Notebook Rhymes will continue for 15 weeks; details on whether its final form will be released in full have not been shared. Listen to it via Adult Swim. [ SPIN ]

    • Los Angeles-based angel-voiced human Moses Sumney is releasing his debut album Aromanticism later this month. It follows up his 2016 Lamentations EP and will be released September 22 via Jagjaguwar. He’s previously shared the tracks “Doomed” and “Quarrel” and today he’s shared the beautiful “Indulge Me.” Sumney will be in Seattle on Thursday, September 28 to play the Crocodile. [ FACT ]
