  • Ty Segall has released a new song “My Lady’s On Fire.” The prolific garage-rocker has been performing the song live for a while but has never released a studio version until now. The song follows a string of singles, including “Meaning,” “Alta,” and a cover of the theme song for Adult Swim show Squidbillies. Segall’s last album was a six-song EP called Fried Shallots, released back in August to benefit the ACLU. [ Paste

  • Morrissey has shared the third single from his forthcoming album Low in High School, called “Jacky’s Only Happy When She’s Up on the Stage.” The song will be released as a 7″ single, featuring a cover of Elvis Presley’s “You’ll Be Gone” on the B-side. Morrissey recently performed the song live on BBC but changed the “Exit, exit, exit, exit” chant that’s featured in the studio recording to “Brexit, exit, Brexit, exit.” The song follows “Spent the Day in Bed” and “I Wish You Lonely.” Low in High School is out November 17 on BMG. Morrissey played the Paramount theatre last week. [ Brooklyn Vegan ]

  • British brother duo Field Music have announced a new album called Open Here to be released next year. They shared a teaser trailer for the album which features a new song called “Time In Joy.” The album follows 2016’s Commontime and is due out February 2 via Memphis Industries. The band’s David Brewis said of the new album: “Where Commontime felt like a distillation of all of the elements that make up Field Music, this feels like an expansion as if we’re pushing in every direction at once to see how far we can go.” [ Under the Radar ]

  • The literal Jack of all trades, Jack White, was the keynote guest at the Making Vinyl conference in Detroit last night. White opened the Third Man Pressing plant in the back of his Third Man Records shop in the city a few months ago. Billboard got all the highlights of White’s talk, which focused on the reasons behind vinyl’s resurgence and some of the difficulties of running his label. He also offered a tidbit about his next solo album, saying that the sequel to 2014’s Lazaretto, is “practically done, just some finishing touches. It’s a bizarre one. I’ve just got to let it settle. I need to listen to it by myself. I haven’t been able to listen to it by myself for awhile.” The album is expected out in early 2018. [ Billboard ]
  • Will Wiesenfeld has shared the third Baths single from his upcoming third album Romaplasm. Called “Extrasolar,” the glitchy, skittering song follows the singles “Yeoman” and “Out.” Romaplasm is out on November 17 via Anticon. [ SPIN ]
