  • On the heels of his latest release, the Carrie & Lowell mixtape The Greatest Gift, Sufjan Stevens has shared a new song. Entitled "Tonya Harding," the song is very literally about famed fallen professional skater Tonya Harding. Stevens made the song in two different keys, D major and Eb major, and has shared both on Bandcamp. The D major song comes with a video featuring footage of Harding skating. Stevens shared a lengthy essay about why he wrote the song, and it comes mostly from a place of respect and fascination. The song is not connected to the new film about Harding I, Tonya that is out this Friday. The song follows lead single "Look At Your Hands." I can feel you creep into my private life is the first Tune-Yards album since Nikki Nack in 2014 and will be released January 19 on 4AD. Tune-Yards are stopping by Seattle on Monday, February 26 to play the Showbox. [ Consequence of Sound ]
