  • The eternally mysterious Frank Ocean has posted yet another (semi-confusing) hint about a forthcoming album via his Tumblr. The post features a person wearing a baseball cap that says, "If you liked 2017, you'll love 2018" (which feels comical because we're pretty sure no one liked 2017). The photo is accompanied by the caption "new 18-99" which we don't quite understand but surely there's an Ocean fan out there who can decode it. The Tumblr post follows up a November post, just after he turned 30, that read: "“WELL I️ MADE THE ALBUM BEFORE 30. I️ JUST AINT PUT THAT BITCH OUT!” -QUOTES FROM AN INTERVIEW I️ HAVEN’T GIVEN HAHA.” It seemed Ocean was referring to a tweet he made years ago about putting out 5 albums before turning 30. If he indeed has a new one completed then it would be his fifth. [ XXL Mag ]

  • Michelle Zauner's solo project Japanese Breakfast has shared a bewitching cover of The Mamas and The Papas 1965 classic "California Dreamin'" for Sirius XM. The song starts soft and haunting but then kicks into a synth-pop jam. Japanese Breakfast released the amazing Soft Sounds From Another Planet this past summer via Dead Oceans. KEXP and Neumos are bringing Japanese Breakfast to Seattle on Thursday, February 15 to play with Jay Som and Hand Habits at Neumos. [ Paste ]
  • Country-rock singer Margo Price stopped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night to perform "A Little Pain" off of her sophomore album All American Made, released this past October via Third Man Records. In a very sparkly dress, Price enthralls the audience by slinking around the stage and even into the audience. Catch Price when she stops by Seattle on Sunday, February 25 to play the Neptune. • Internet-born international pop collective Superorganism made a huge splash last year with the single "Something For Your M.I.N.D." which landed them a deal with Domino Records to release their debut album. We now have the first taste of the forthcoming album with the incredibly catchy single "Everybody Wants To Be Famous." It comes accompanied by a video directed by Robert Strange, which casts Superorganism member Orono as famous YouTuber. Superorganism are playing Barboza on Friday, March 23. [ Stereogum ]
