Midnight In A Perfect World: Knox Fortune

Knox Fortune is a Chicago-based, Grammy Award-winning artist and producer that’s been a prominent behind-the-scenes figure within his home city’s vibrant music scene over the past couple years. First making waves on collaborations with fellow Chicago artists Chance the Rapper, Joey Purp, Vic Mensa, and Towkio, Knox Fortune stepped more clearly into the spotlight last year with his solo debut album Paradise, a confident and colorful record that displayed his unique fusion of psych-pop, hip-hop, R&B, and pop styles. His exclusive guest DJ mix for Midnight in a Perfect World is a brilliant showcase of his eclectic ears, as he pieces together a mix that quickly jumps between disparate styles with an enthusiastic abandon that all makes sense and feels surprisingly cohesive. Between New Order and The Knife, Knox Fortune splices in nearly 20 additional tracks ranging from esoteric electronic to fuzzy punk rock, unveiling an illuminating glimpse into his diverse influences and taste.
