Ozomatli is a band mostly known for their compilation of Latin traditional styles and their political activisism expressed through music. A name that has its origins in the Náhuatl culture, this seven pice based in Los Angeles combines the typical sounds from Latin America, and adds up to the mode of the life in the United States as some of the lyrics are in English, and others in Spanish.
Ozomatli is a variety of history, where there members share different backgrounds and bring their create their very own style through jazz, funk, hip hop, reggae and salsa. Their record Street Signs received the Grammy for Best Alternative Latin Rock Album, placing Ozomatli as one of the most outstanding groups to bring the tradition of Latin America through its music.
Ozomatli performed at this year’s KEXP live broadcasting at South by Southwest, showing a magnificed acts that featured “Como“, “Elysian Persuasion“,”Gay Vatos“, “Nada Por Free“, “Saturday Night” y “Temperatura“.
