Thursday News Lowdown

Andy Hummel, the bassist for Big Star, died Monday at the age of 59 after years of battling cancer. This is only four months after the passing of Big Star’s frontman Alex Chilton passing away in March. Our thoughts go out to Hummel’s family. Read more about him here.

Hood to Hood West Seattle: Chief Sealth High School Marching Band

Anyone who has ever thought marching bands are not cool has obviously never been to a performance by the Chief Sealth High School Marching Band. This group of underage talents belted out the liveliest tunes outside of Easy Street Records in West Seattle this morning.
