Everyday (Mon-Fri), we deliver a Song of the Day podcast. We feature exclusive in-studio performances, unreleased songs, and recordings from independent musicians that KEXP thinks listeners should hear along with songs from more well-known artists. All this week, the Song of the Day podcast is spotlighted by Cheryl Waters on The Mid Day Show… Today’s Song of the Day podcast is ‘Publish My Love’ from the 2005 album Descended Like Vultures by Rogue Wave, available on Sub Pop Records. Here’s what our very own Don Yates has to say about Descended Like Vultures:
“This Oakland psych-pop band takes a big step forward on their second album. While their first full-length was almost a solo acoustic-oriented release for frontman Zach Rogue, he now has a full band behind him to help flesh things out. The band also takes advantage of the fuller production by experimenting more in the studio and creating a more multi-shaded, richly textured sound for Rogue’s well-crafted songs.”

These guys were one of the hotter shows we saw at SWSW down here in Austin, TX — and we saw them in an Urban Outfitters lobby no less! Great energy, tight drums & keyboard, and sweet sweet style.
can’t wait for more,
