In the last installment of ‘Life With Kevin’, an astute KEXP Blog Reader noted that Kevin brews his tea in a unique gadget. The commenter referred to it as a “Teavana Tea-Bong 2000″, which is an apt description.
The gadget, known by the folks at Teavana as the Perfect Tea Maker. You put your tea in the main part, fill it with water, and let it steep for the appropriate number of minutes. When the steeping is complete, you place it on top of your mug and the water drains from the bong to your mug.
When Kevin first laid eyes on the Tea Bong his eyes pretty much bugged out as he half-yelled ‘Why didn’t you tell me about this sooner??’ Kevin is never far from his tea bong. He routinely brings it into meetings, sometimes leaving in the middle of the meeting to put more water in it. Kevin drinks the tea from a white and black KEXP mug, that was a premium in a pledge drive several pledge drives ago. He has other mugs, but seems to like that one best.
Stay tuned for the next installment of Life With Kevin: Hot Water.

Sooo…can you put yer weeed in it?
Does Kevin drink Yerbe Mate? I might be able to get him some Mate and a Mate Gourd if he doesn’t already have one! Let me know!
Is this like Father Guido Sarducci’s Mr. Tea?
lisa, your “life with kevin” column seriously cracks me up! ;) xoxo
all you tea whores:
check out a chinese tea called ‘tie guan ying’
it’s a chinese green tea but much different than japanese green tea.
it’s perdy sweet.
ps. i’m down w/ the tea bong
Lisa you have to admit that Kevin’s teabong is pretty cool. You should have a cuppa with Kevin and enjoy the teas that he brings.
As a tea dork I encourage you to encourage Kevin to keep on drinking his Green tea from the “teabong”. One thing to keep straight “TI Kuan Yin” is not a green tea its a Oolong and yes Kevin should try it.
Lisa please keep us tea dorks informed on the next installement on Kevin’s adventures with the “teabong”.
what size of tea bong is that? 16 or 32 oz?
How about this as another potential green tea bong?
