This week in the Roadhouse tune in tonight at 6pm for a special 3-hour program; Before Classic Rock: The British Blues of the 1960s. Hear your favorite classic rock bands in their early incarnations as hip Blues and R&B bands. Lots of rare and obscure stuff from The Stones, Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, Eric Clapton, Yardbirds, Cream, Animals, Pretty Things and of course John Mayall. Enjoy this early recording of Led Zeppelin performing ‘How Many More Times.’ I believe it’s from a Danish TV special, recorded in March of 1969 shortly after the band changed it’s name from the New Yardbirds to Led Zeppelin. It’s an awesome recording, and man do they rock! The song sounds a lot like ‘How Many More Years’ by Howlin’ Wolf. Hmmm… Go figure.

This is an amazing show! It’s roots, blues and all about the awesome sounds that happened when British rockers met American Blues aritsts. Y’all know what happened right? They had a baby and called it rock-n-roll. And that is what this program does - shows the progression and some before and after. Beautiful.
I am loving this show! Listening on the streaming archive; any chance of this show being permanently archived? I would love to keep listening to it online…
Is it possible to get a playlist for this show?
