Photographer David Frank was also at the Sasquatch! Music Festival. You can see all of his photos on our Flickr site, but here are some of his highlights:
Day 1:
Ozamotli brings a buffet of multi- cultural sounds during lunch time:

The New Pornographers need another beer:

The audience lost all control on and off stage during a solid set delivered by M.I.A and friends:

Modest Mouse looked and sounded like a band determined to headline the main stage. I would not be surprised based on the audience response, if they were indeed headliners next year:

Michael Stipe and company looked and sounded great. Over 10 years since R.E.M.’s last trip to the Gorge it was really nice to see them back:

Day 2:
The Presidents’ mission of writing one word chorus continues on for insects everywhere:

Michael Franti and Spearhead shared a whole lot of love with the crowd as the last band in the sun on day two. [Sounds like: Marley and Kravitz got together and decided to have an all night bbq]

Good news for fans of The Cure fans: apparently Robert Smith has no plans of slowing down, as The Cure played 3 hours of favorites including 2 encores!

Day 3:
The Hives were only able to provide 69% of their energy out of fear that anything higher would bring the Gorge crumbling down:

Tegan and Sara opened with “Walking with a Ghost” and continued with a solid set list packed with audience favorites.

After two and a half days of listening to bands, my brain needed a nice break. Kay Kay and his Weathered Underground provided just the wonderful melodic tunes my ears were craving. Seattle’s best kept secret is one step closer to the main stage. [Sounds like: the ghost of Sgt Pepper has risen from the dead]

As I was standing deep in the crowd for the Flaming Lips, I began to notice some strange smells all around me that were followed by a greenish type smoke. Thankfully this did not distract from all of the amazing colors, dancing tele-tubbies, giant balloons and incredible flying saucer… By the way everyone I know who has seen the Flaming Lips live tell me they are the greatest thing ever. Turns out they were right:
