Check out the debut LPs from Sunny Day Sets Fire, Paramount Styles (former Girls vs. Boys vocalist/guitarist Scott McCloud), and Seattle band The Dutchess and the Duke. Also, be sure to pick up the new EPs from Joseph Arthur (his fourth this year) and Architecture in Helsinki. Perhaps most interesting and most potentially disastrous (it’s not) is The Coral Sea, a collaboration between Patti Smith and My Bloody Valentine’s Kevin Shields – she reads from her book, a tribute to controversial photographer Robert Mapplethorpe, and he provides accompanying guitar squall.
