From last October during KEXP’s broadcast at Gibson Showroom during CMJ, the main members of Broken Social Scene gathered for a laid-back, practically impromptu set, featuring songs helmed by a few of the multiple songwriters: Brendan Canning, Kevin Drew, and Andrew Whiteman, joined by drummer Justin Peroff and multi-instrumentalist Charles Spearin. Two of the songs came from Brendan’s recent album, Something For All Of Us…, namely “Hit the Wall” and “Love Is New.” The rest of the songs were so new that one of them didn’t even have a title yet.
