While its a drag to see any purveyor of local seattle music get the shaft, fact is, you get what you deserve. While Cobra may have struggled with their location, it's been made very clear that the bigger reason behind their demise is the general crappy attitude of the staff over there.
When people get hassled on the way into a place, refused entry because they're wearing a friggen Smiths Tee Shirt, get hassled while in a joint and even get hassled on the way out...word's gunna get around fast that the place is not conducive to having a good time. People even complained about the door-thugs giving folks on the sidewalk a hard time.. what the hell?
The only positive thing I have ever heard about the place is that it had good sound. Period. And even that has been contested. I'm glad to see it go and maybe someone a little more interested in elevation the music scene rather pompous exclusive fascists will fill the stinking hole.
