KEXP Gathering Space Hours During Bumbershoot
The KEXP Gathering Space, La Marzocco, and Light in the Attic Records will open at their usual time over the Bumbershoot weekend. However, at 1:30 PM each day the Gathering Space will close and be cleared of all guests to turn the space over and re-open for Bumbershoot at 2 PM. All Bumbershoot ticket holders will need to enter the festival through official gates and scan their wristband for entry. Once the festival begins, the Gathering Space west door will be closed and only used for emergencies.

55 spots will be open to Bumbershoot ticket holders on a first come, first served basis. There will be a designated line for the in-studio session located outside of the KEXP Gathering Space. KEXP staff will be there to head count then lead the group into the Viewing Gallery. Sessions tend to last approximately 30 minutes. If you have any questions regarding the in-studio viewings please email Can’t attend in person? Listen worldwide at KEXP.ORG

• No in and out privileges once the performance starts
• No food or drink
• No cell phones
• No video
• No cameras
• Allow space between the glass window and guests
• No tapping, pressing, or leaning against glass
• Please remain quiet so everyone can enjoy the performance

Q: Is the Gathering Space and Viewing Gallery wheelchair accessible?
A: Yes. All entry points are accessible. There are no stairs leading into either the Gathering Space or Viewing Gallery.

Q: Are children welcome?
A: Yes, however, please keep in mind that for the enjoyment of all guests, we ask that attendees remain quiet during the performance. Also, please consider there is no entry or exit once the performance begins. If you don’t feel your child will be able to watch the performance quietly for 30 minutes, you may want to reconsider.

Q: Can I hold a bunch of spots for my friends?
A: No. To ensure all guests have an opportunity to see a live in-studio performance, guests must be present and lined up in order to enter the Gathering Space for the performance.

Q: Why can’t we have in and out privileges during the performance?
A: The Gathering Space is dark with blackened windows so that KEXP photographers and videographers can capture the best content possible during the performance. Light from opening doors will have a negative effect on the content so we must keep the doors closed. This is also why we cannot allow phones or flash photography. The sound and light from opening doors are also disruptive to other audience members.

Flatstock: A Concert Poster Exhibition at KEXP

During the month of August, you can come to KEXP to see a preview of Flatstock’s Bumbershoot concert poster exhibition. As Flatstock gears up for their main exhibit in the Seattle Center Exhibition Hall, they have hung many incredible concert posters, featuring some of the best poster artists in the PNW and around the country.

You can view the KEXP Flatstock preview in the Gathering Space through Bumbershoot weekend. The full Flatstock Exhibit will be open from Friday, September 1st through Sunday, September 3rd, to those with a Bumbershoot pass. The full exhibit is also free and open to the public on Monday, September 4th.
