Band Photo THAO AND THE GET DOWN STAY DOWN
In 21st century indie rock, “populist” isn’t necessarily a term that a lot of bands would want attached to them, but Thao and The Get Down Stay Down gladly wear it as a badge of honor. On their latest album, We The Common, Thao Nguyen and her bandmates...

While ZZ Ward may be relatively new to the pop music scene, the pop/blues powerhouse began making music when she was 12. These years of experience and time spent honing her talent helped lead to the success of ZZ’s first EP, Til The Casket Drops, which was released last year...

Charles Bradley is living proof that it’s never too late to start living out your dreams. He dropped his debut studio album back in 2011 on Daptone Records. Daptone is the easily the most fitting home for his sound – Bradley emanates the spirit of 60′s and 70′s...

SALLIE FORD & THE SOUND OUTSIDE
Formed in 2007, Sallie Ford & The Sound Outside have become staples of the Pacific Northwest music community. It makes sense that their sound has been described as “rockabilly,” because Ford, originally from North Carolina, infuses her own style of southern soulfulness. After moving her musical talents...

BOB MOULD
As the frontman for Hüsker Dü and Sugar, and as a solo performer, Bob Mould’s melodically heavy songwriting and guitar playing made him one of the most influential figures of 1980s independent music. Band Photo TAMARYN
Mexican Summer band Tamaryn had a killer year last year. Their debut LP Tender New Signs was not one to miss, meeting the shoegaze resurgence’s wave of mutilation head on with an atmospheric whisper led by a collected muse with the voice of an angel. The band is...

SUPERCHUNK
By now most have heard about Superchunk titling their new album I Hate Music, that it is the “dark twin” of their 2010 release, Majesty Shredding. But the only reason to care about an album name is if you like the band that’s naming it. And who doesn’t like Superchunk?? The lively rock group...
