More than 6,000 unsigned bands and artists entered NPR Music’s 2016 Tiny Desk Contest, a search to find a great undiscovered talent to perform at the most famous desk in music. The judges picked one winner — violinist Gaelynn Lea — but in the process, found countless reasons to celebrate the creativity and musicianship embedded in every community across the country.
NPR Music and Lagunitas Brewing Company (the sponsor of the Tiny Desk Contest since its launch in 2014) are teaming up with KEXP to bring tunes from the Tiny Desk Contest to Seattle. Join KEXP and NPR Music staff at the KEXP New Home [472 1st Avenue North, Seattle Center] for a celebration of the Seattle musical community, including live performances by some of NPR Music’s favorite local Tiny Desk Contest entrants.
This event is 21+ and is FREE and open to the public.
