From 6 AM to 6 PM, we’ll be reading your stories and playing your requests. To Write Love On Her Arms // A nonprofit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury, and suicide. TWLOHA exists to encourage, inform, inspire, and invest directly into treatment and recovery.

2-1-1 // Free and confidential service that helps people across the U.S. and in many parts of Canada find the local resources they need; 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Seattle/King County Crisis Clinic // 866-4-CRISIS (866-427-4747) // For 24/7, free support for those in crisis. Crisis Clinic connects people in physical, emotional and financial crisis to services that will be of help.

Crisis Clinic of the Peninsulas // For 24/7, free over-the-phone crisis intervention, information referral, and a supportive listening ear to people in Clallam, Kitsap, and Jefferson counties who are experiencing situational distress.

Crisis Clinic of Thurston and Mason Counties // 866-4-CRISIS (866-427-4747) 360-586-2800 // The clinic provides a 24-hour 7-day a week centralized service to anyone who calls, offering crisis intervention and emotional support, as well as information and referrals.


Forefront Suicide Prevention // Forefront develops suicide prevention programs that save lives. This University of Washington-based center offers training for professional and community audiences, school and college programs, resources for those newly bereaved by suicide, and media training in responsible reporting on suicide.

Many Minds // A King County group that works on mental health resources.

Mary’s Place // Mary’s Place inspire the community to support homeless women, children, and families through advocacy, partnerships, volunteerism and philanthropy and aids them through emergency situations. // Videos about stories and education around dealing with suicidal thoughts.

Recovery Cafe // Whether in crisis, newer to recovery, in long-term recovery, after a relapse, during a difficult life change, or mental health transition, the Café is a place of support and stability for all individuals seeking to break the cycle of destruction and despair.

Safer Homes, Suicide Aware // This program offers training and educational materials on locking and limiting access to medications and firearms. Preventing access to these lethal means can save the life of someone in a suicidal crisis. Act today to prevent a suicide in the future. Forefront Suicide Prevention, the Second Amendment Foundation and other firearms organizations, health care providers and public health experts are partners in this statewide initiative.

Seattle Counseling Service // Seattle Counseling Service is a community resource that advocates, educates and serves to advance the social well-being and mental health of the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender communities.

Washington State Suicide Prevention Plan // If you are interested in learning more about how Washington is working to reduce suicide, you will find much information in the Washington State Suicide Prevention Plan.

    If it wasn’t for music I would have killed myself years ago…music inspires be human, and stay alive trying to live it as long as I can. Thank you for your station, you folks have one of the best in the country.

    The Seattle Natural Mental/Mood Health Meetup group is a resource that I’d like to share with KEXP listeners.
    The group is mainly a space for people who are interested in exploring the many natural ways to manage mental health concerns and maintain mental wellness together.
    During a recent event, we discussed the multiple contributors to mental/mood disorders – genetic, hormonal, digestive, immune, and psychosocial. We’ve also had a session on Pilates/Body awareness and have one coming up on how to use nutrition to improve mental health.
    Meetings are workshop-type sessions presented by various health professionals and integrative medicine specialists and focused on developing dietary, exercise, communication, self care, spiritual and other mental wellness habits.
    We are growing a community that is committed to de-stigmatizing mental disease while supporting each other with our various resources, skills and desire to cultivate joy and peace of mind.
