  • The Pixies have a video for "Andro Queen" from their most recent release, EP-1 - although what's happening in the video is uncertain. Two bands seem to be performing and there is a girl dancing, or just walking, as well as several tiger masks and a tiger lamp. Even if you can't make heads or tails of it, the track itself feels almost summery, and is worth listening and watching. [Stereogum]

  • Alunageorge isn't having any of this "no dancing" in their video for "Best Be Believin". In fact they are dancing it up in a psych-ward that was supposedly filled with people who've had their dancing desires stifled. Not only is the track as catchy and breezy as can be, you'll be practicing your own pop-lock routine after watching this video. [Stereogum]
  • Vampire Weekend's Chris Baio has his own project, called Baio, and is releasing an EP this month. Today, he has given us the title track. "Mira" is a bouncy glitchy ride through several seemingly different landscapes of sound samples. [Pitchfork]
  • Among other many talents that David Byrne has, he also has a knack for saying, or in this case writing, what's on his mind in elegant and thoughtful ways. Today, he has published an editorial for Creative Time Reports about how NYC has changed - and he doesn't seem to think all of it is for the better. Culture is necessity for a city to transcend being just any other place, and Byrne takes a close look at what it takes to actually have and save culture in a city. Read the whole thing here.
  • Murky vocals bubble and sway throughout "Warrior Lord" from Poliça's upcoming album Shulasmith - and so the mostly underwater video for the track is fitting. Lights reflect and bounce in golden water as two woman mirror each other in the water. [Stereogum]
  • Pure Bathing Culture has a complex stop-motion video for "Dream the Dare" from Moon Tides. Colorful and imaginative, the video follows a bird through a landscape of beautiful prismatic geometry and flickering lights. [Stereogum]
