Sasquatch! Music Festival 2016, Day 4: Four Tet

A Four Tet remix has long been a universally accepted stamp of approval and new music from the beatsmith is always met with a rare intensity of excitement. And while new music and mixes from Kieran Hebden’s project are always a cause for celebration, his live sets are surely the best way to experience the English artist’s music in full. Separating song’s into melodic and rhythmic loops and mixing them as he pleases while inserting unique melody altering filters, Hebden offers a unique mix every time he gets on stage. The approach allows Hebden to read the room and deliver a set that fits the vibe, making his set a great time no matter where you see it. On the closing night of Sasquatch! Music Festival, the energy was high in the El Chupacabra tent and Hebden delivered accordingly. A master at creating tension, Hebden built his beats up, feeding off the energy of the crowd before offering unpredictable drops and infectious melodies. Saying nothing and keeping the crowd guessing with the tension he created, he gave off an aurora of mystery only added to by the outstanding light display. Hebden displayed mastery of his craft throughout, giving the dancing crowd of El Chupacabra exactly what they wanted in a way that is rarely experienced.
