Seattle band Pickwick has always been a band that embraces change. In their earliest incarnations, they were an ambient-folk group before falling in love with the hypnotic grooves of R&B that would be the foundation for their 2013 full-length debut, Can't Talk Medicine. Even still, the band continues to evolve and adapt. In 2015, they wrote and scrapped an entire record's worth of material. They also lost a key member, Grammy-award winning producer and vibraphonist Kory Kruckenberg. The timing was right to change again.

The band reached out to producer Erik Blood (Shabazz Palaces, Tacocat) and began searching for that elusive "next thing". What they found was transcendence in psychic sounds and experimental tinkering that would become the building blocks of their upcoming record, LoveJoys, out this summer. The lead single, "Turncoat", gives a dazzling look at the headspace the band has been living in these past couple years. The psychedelic lyric video highlights their newfound sonic surrealism as lead vocalist Galen Disston delivers a sensual falsetto. "Sensual" is the key word here, setting the scene with the steamy opening line, "Didn't wait around to tell her/Got the clothing off/No one else around."

Pickwick has always sounded confident in their performance, but they're more self-assured than ever in this new direction. Watch the exclusive premiere of the lyric video below and pre-order the new album, LoveJoys, on Friday.
