  • Grandaddy released their first album in over a decade, Last Place, back in March and today they've shared a video for the track "Brush with the Wild." The video, directed by Aaron Beckum, follows the story of a heartbroken man who tries to throw out all the things that remind him of his ex, only to have them come to life to take him on a journey to try to find her and get her back. It stars actor/comedian Jonah Ray of The Nerdist and Mystery Science Theater 3000. [ Under the Radar ]

  • Last night Jeff Tweedy stopped by Late Night with Seth Myers to perform an acoustic version of Wilco's "I Am Trying to Break Your Heart" from 2001's critically-acclaimed Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. "I Am Trying to Break Your Heart" is one of 11 songs that will become stripped down ballads on Tweedy's solo album Together at Last, which is out this Friday. Wilco is currently on tour for their latest album, Schmilco, released last year. • Long-running trip-hop collective UNKLE are coming back with their first new album in 7 years, The Road: Part 1, the follow-up to 2010’s Where Did The Night Fall. Today they shared the video for the song "Looking For The Rain," which features Mark Lanegan and ESKA and was created by filming a variety of subjects from nature, such as water, crystals and plants. The footage was composited in several stages to eventually form a moving tunnel of light that features synchronised repetition and bilateral symmetry. The Road: Part 1 will be released in August and has a long list of collaborators, including Primal Scream’s Andrew Innes, Queens Of The Stone Age’s Jon Theodore, Beck’s drummer Justin Stanley, Dhani Harrison, Mark Lanegan, and more. • Looking for an excuse to go to Italy this summer? Thom Yorke and Johnny Greenwood of Radiohead might have one for you. The two are teaming up for a rare duo performance on August 20th at the open-air Sferisterio Stadium in Macerata, Italy in an effort to raise money to support the restoration following the devastating earthquakes that hit the country's Le Marche region last August. A 6.2-magnitude quake hit the country with aftershocks continuing for months after, making recovery efforts difficult. Radiohead are currently touring Europe and have a controversial show in Israel on July 19th. [ Consequence of Sound ]
  • Last week Sharon Van Etten shared with us a remix by Hercules and Love Affair of her song "Not Myself" in honor of the one-year anniversary of the Pulse Nightclub shooting. It now appears that wasn't a one-off project. Etten and Hercules and Love Affair have teamed up for another song called "Omnion," which is also the title track from Hercules and Love Affair's upcoming album. Andy Butler of Hercules and Love Affair had this to say about the song, "I feel so blessed to have had Sharon Van Etten sing "Omnion.” She is an artist of incredible depth and authenticity and her voice is so inviting yet truly has a mystery about it. Those qualities rendered a beautiful interpretation of a song that is ultimately an appeal to the divine for help and healing. With such a generous spirit and kindness about her, she was a joy to work with." Hercules and Love Affair’s Omnion will be released August 18 and follows 2014’s The Feast of the Broken Heart.
