  • Alvvays are due to release their highly-anticipated sophomore album, Antisocialites, on September 8 via Polyvinyl. Today they've shared the third single from the new album, "Plimsoll Punks." It follows the wistful tracks "In Undertow" and "Dreams Tonite." In a press release the band claims "Plimsoll Punks" is their response to Television Personalities' 1995 song "Part-Time Punks" off of Paisley Shirts & Mini Skirts. Catch Alvvays on Saturday, October 28 at The Showbox. [ Under the Radar ]
  • Italian composer Daniele Luppi is no stranger to collaborations. His most well-known collab was with Danger Mouse for Rome in 2011, which also featured (or "starred," as he called it) Jack White and Norah Jones. He now has a new album on the way entitled MILANO that was made with a little help from his friends, Parquet Courts and Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Karen O. The first single, "Soul and Cigarette," is a lethargic collab with the former. The official video is directed by Luppi and features artwork by Andrew Savage, as well as photos from Los Angeles artist Peter Shire. MILANO is out October 27 via Danger Mouse's 30th Century Records. • Cult rap hero Lil B has finally delivered his mixtape Black Ken to the world. Originally promised all the way back in 2010, Lil B (or Based God to many) is calling this his first official mixtape which was produced completely by himself and has only one feature, from iLoveMakonnen. The mixtape was briefly leaked by DatPiff by mistake yesterday but today Black Ken is available on all the streaming platforms. Today also happens to be Lil B's 28th birthday! [ The Fader ]
  • Russian shoegazers Pinkshinyultrablast released the spectacular Grandfeathered last year and since then have made some changes. They made a pretty major move from St. Petersburg to Los Angeles and went from a quartet to a trio. If their new song "Find Your Saint" is any indication, it looks like the changes were positive. It's a breathtaking and ethereal synth ride that you'll want to repeat over and over. [ Stereogum ]
