  • Alt-J have shared an incredibly cinematic video for "Pleader," off their latest album Relaxer, released back in June. Directed by Isaiah Seret, the exact plot is difficult to derive but according to the band: "When we set out to make a video for 'Pleader,' Joe sent the following one-line brief to director Isaiah Seret: 'a Welsh mining love story; a tidal wave of earth.' What Isaiah came back with was an epic short film, inspired both by the song's source material and Tarkovsky's The Sacrifice. A family must pit their desire to have a child against the knowledge that this would destroy their community. The hypnotic, hymnal quality of the song binds the video throughout, hinting at redemption while destruction takes place." [ Under the Radar ]

  • Australian psych band Tame Impala are releasing a collector's edition of 2015's beloved album Currents tomorrow, but ahead of that they've shared the Currents B-Sides & Remixes EP featuring three new songs, one new remix, and a previously shared Soulwax remix. One of the new songs is "List Of People (To Try And Forget About)" which actually dates back to the Lonerism sessions in 2012. Kevin Parker debuted the song on Zane Lowe's Apple Music Beats 1 Radio show, telling Lowe, “I guess one of the reasons it didn’t end up on the album is because it was started on so early and I was so over it by the time I was finishing the album. But by the time I got to finish it I was really satisfied with it as a song, and as a chunk of my creativity and emotion and stuff.” [ Pitchfork ]

  • Björk is releasing her highly anticipated new album Utopia next week and has so far shared the tracks "The Gate" and "Blissing Me." Today the Icelandic chanteuse has shared a 40-minute mix of music that is, according to Björk, "most definitely flute and air themed and perhaps reveals the sonic environment my ears were in last year." Along with music from artists like Kelela, Arca, Serpentwithfeet, and Kelly Lee Owens is a preview of a new song, "Loss," that will be on the new album. Utopia is out November 24 via One Little Indian. [ The FADER ]
  • Toro Y Moi has shared a video for "No Show," off of this year's very good album Boo Boo. Shot in a similar style as the videos for "Girl Like You" and "You and I," the video has a public access TV-type essence, shot in a low-budget, primitive way. The clip is focused primarily on Chaz Bear in a bucket hat, holding a glowing staff. It then transitions into the song "Be," a hidden track on Boo Boo that features vocals by Madeline Kenney while we watch Chaz get a haircut. [ Stereogum ]
