Song of the Day: Dude York - Break Up Holiday

Every Monday through Friday, we deliver a different song as part our Song of the Day podcast subscription. This podcast features exclusive KEXP in-studio performances, unreleased songs, and recordings from independent artists that our DJs think you should hear. This week, we are featuring Christmas-themed songs selected by Brian Foss, host of Sonic Reducer, KEXP's punk show. Brian has been doing a punk rock Christmas special every year since 2004, and has been a Christmas Day on-air DJ since 2012. No standards are played, only original songs, most with a humorous bent. Hear him this holiday season from Noon to 6:00 PM on Monday, December 25th, and get even more seasonal songs on his 13th annual Punk Rock Christmas show on Sonic Reducer, Saturday, December 23rd.

The best Xmas songs are ones that flip the happy times everyone is supposed to feel with the reality of most folks -- Christmas time can be hard for a lot of people, and sometimes you have the celebrate the pain. Yay, Dude York!
