James Blake has shared his first new original song since his 2016 LP The Colour In Anything. "If the Car Beside You Moves Ahead" is a chopped and pitch-shifted odyssey that comes with a perfectly paired video by Alexander Brown of a spacey night drive. Blake previously shared a cover of Don McLean's "Vincent" in December, which he has often previously played live. He also was featured on the Black Panther soundtrack with the song "King's Dead." No word yet on a forthcoming album. [ Rolling Stone ]

Jack White is releasing a new album this March called Boarding House Reach. Today he's shared the third single "Corporation" which takes a funkier, more experimental turn from his previous material. The song follows "Connected By Love" and "Respect Commander," as well as recent news that the music mogul is banning cell phones at his upcoming shows. White will be playing the WaMu Theatre on Monday, August 13. Boarding House Reach is out March 23 via Third Man Records/Columbia. [ Pitchfork ]

Lord Huron recently teased a new album called Vide Noir was on its way, and today they officially announced its release. Due to come out April 20 on Whispering Pines/Republic Records, the album is said by frontman Ben Schneider to have been inspired by nighttime drive around Los Angeles. “I started imagining Vide Noir as an epic odyssey through the city, across dimensions, and out into the cosmos. A journey along the spectrum of human experience. A search for meaning amidst the cold indifference of The Universe.” They also shared two songs off the records, "Ancient Names (Part I)" and "Ancient Names (Part II)" which take on a darker tone from their previous folk-focused material. The band also announced a tour which includes a date in Seattle on Thursday, June 7 at the Moore Theatre. [ SPIN ]

Jay Som has released a new 7" of outtakes from last year's critically acclaimed album Everybody Works. The Pirouette 7-inch includes the songs "Pirouette" and "O.K., Meet Me Underwater." We previously heard A-side "Pirouette" and today the B-side has been shared. Jay Som (real name Melina Duterte) said of the song: "I wrote 'O.K., Meet Me Underwater' entirely around one of my favorite drum grooves - there's just something so funky and special about that beat. The general theme of the song is about the pain and acceptance of change within interpersonal relationships." Pirouette is out now on Polyvinyl.
