  • Last night Death Cab For Cutie played a benefit show for the ACLU and Planned Parenthood at the Paramount. During their performance they paid tribute to Chris Cornell by covering Soundgarden's "Fell On Black Days." Before launching into the song, Ben Gibbard shared a few words about Cornell: “What an unbelievable talent he was, what fucking insane singer he is.” Cornell passed on May 18, after a show in Detroit. Gibbard previously shared a note on his Facebook after Cornell's passing remembering Cornell, calling him “the most sophisticated lyricist of his Seattle contemporaries.” [ Pitchfork ]

  • Washed Out has announced a new visual album called Mister Mellow. In what might be dubbed a "Beyonce move" each of the 12 tracks on the album will be accompanied by a visual component. They've already released the video for the single "Get Lost." The album will be released June 20 on Stones Throw Records. A tour has also been announced but without a Seattle stop. [ Stereogum ]

  • The Pains of Being Pure at Heart are releasing their follow-up to 2014's Days of Abandon on July 14 via the band's own label Painbow. The new album will be called The Echo of Pleasure and today they shared their second single from the album "When I Dance With You." They previously shared the first single "Anymore." There will be a limited edition gold metallic vinyl version with gold foil stamped packaging (limited to 500 copies) of The Echo of Pleasure. The Pains of Being Pure at Heart will be at the Tractor Tavern on Saturday, September 23rd with the Courtneys. [ Under the Radar ]

  • Local electropop duo Odesza have announced their third album called A Moment Apart. Not only that, but they've shared two new songs off of it, "Meridian" and the RY X-featuring "Corners of the Earth." A Moment Apart will be released September 8th via Counter Records. Odesza previously shared "Line of Sight" and "Late Night" in April, which will also be on the new 16-track album. Features on the album include Regina Spektor and Leon Bridges.   • Mac DeMarco made his network debut last night perfroming "One More Love Song" on The Tonight Show. While performing, DeMarco wore a t-shirt depicting himself getting choked out by professional wrestler John Cena, who was also a guest on the show. Apparently, Cena liked it because he posed with DeMarco fo a photo posted on Instagram after the show. Mac DeMarco will be in Seattle for a two-night stint at the Moore on Sunday, September 10th, and Monday, September 11th. [ Spin ]
