  • Legendary '90s dream pop band Luna have reunited and are releasing two new albums on September 22 via Double Feature. One is a covers album called A Sentimental Education and the other is an instrumental EP entitled A Place of Greater Safety. They've previously shared a few songs off A Sentimental Education, including covers of Fleetwood Mac's "One Together" and Mink DeVille's "Let Me Dream If I Want To." Today they've shared their version of The Cure's "Fire in Cairo," as well as a video directed by Keven McAlester that stars actress Rose McGowan. Luna frontman Dean Wareham said this of the song and video, "Those first three albums by The Cure made a big impression on me as a teenager and 'Fire in Cairo' is one of the first songs I learned when I started playing guitar....We are so happy Rose McGowan decided to do this video."   • This Friday, The War On Drugs are releasing their highly-anticipated new album A Deeper Understanding and today we've got the official visuals for the excellent single "Pain." Directed by Emmett Malloy and shot on 16 millimeter film, the black-and-white video features the band playing on a riverboat traveling the Schuylkill River in their hometown of Philadelphia. A Deeper Understanding releases August 25 via Atlantic and The War On Drugs come to Seattle for two nights on Monday, October 9 and Tuesday, October 10 at The Moore Theatre. [ Rolling Stone ]
  • In honor of today's eclipse, Diane Coffee aka Shaun Fleming (formerly of Foxygen) has shared a live cover of Pink Floyd's "Eclipse" from the iconic album Dark Side Of The Moon. In the accompanying video, Fleming is perched on a small stage with cut-outs of the sun and moon around him, while an orchestra plays below. Diane Coffee's last release was 2015’s Everybody’s A Good Dog. [ Stereogum ]
  • Chance the Rapper's brother Taylor Bennett has shared a playlist of unmixed, unreleased tracks, including one featuring Chance and the Social Experiment called "Gimmie A Call." The joyful, a capella track, along with the rest of the Soundcloud playlist, will only be available for a week so listen while you can. Chance has also recently revealed his desire to attend Clark Atlanta University and that a possible collaboration with John Mayer could be forthcoming. [ Consequence of Sound ]
