More anthemic than brooding, Scottish band Frightened Rabbit's songs pull no punches. You don't have time to dwell on their brutally honest lyrics, usually about love and relationships, as you're pumping your fist in the air and sloshing around a pint of. This week, their latest and fourth emotionally stirring LP, Pedestrian Verse, hits record store shelves and no doubt fans will dig its bigger production and huge, urgent sound. Late last year, the band stopped by KEXP to preview a bit of it with a more stripped down, though no less rousting, set featuring a pair of songs from their State Hospital EP, an older classic, and a more recent one from their 2011 A Frightened Rabbit EP.
