  • On September 10, The Clash will release a huge box set called Sound System. According to guitarist Mick Jones this will be “the greatest box set ever.” The set will include all five LPs, three disks of singles, a DVD of the band’s music videos, and SO MUCH more. As if this wasn’t cool enough, the box is designed to look like an 80s boom box. That same day The Clash will also be dropping a 33-track, best-of album, The Clash Hits Back. To see just how intense this compilation is, check out the video below. [Pitchfork]

  • Zooey Deschanel has to be one of the most adorable people to ever exist. Now imagine her in a bubblegum pink dress doing a goofy 1960s dance number and there you have the She & Him music video for “I Could’ve Been Your Girl.” It’s quirky and awkward and so much fun to watch. [Stereogum]

  • The National stopped by The Late Show with David Letterman last night to promote their new album, Trouble Will Find Me, that was released this week (with rave reviews). They played the track “Don’t Swallow the Cap” and were backed up by a neat little string section. They will be performing two shows at The Paramount Theatre on September 19 and 20. Get tickets HERE. • Vancouver duo Lightning Dust have shared the video for their song “Diamond.” It features a group of strangers joining in an impromptu synchronized dance at a public pool. This almost makes me feel brave enough to try having my own public dance party and seeing if anyone will join. I have feeling I wouldn’t be as lucky as the girl in the video. [Stereogum]
