  • We’re sad to report that local rising surf band La Luz were in a severe accident that totaled their van, destroyed their gear, and incurred injuries to the band members. For those who feel compelled to help the band get back on their feet, their label Hardly Art has set up a Paypal account for; fans can simply click here to gift them whatever amount they desire. 100% of the donations will go the band as they seek to pay medical bills and purchase a new van, new equipment, and new merch. KEXP wishes them the best for a speedy recovery.

  • Thao & The Get Down Stay Down are not staying down one bit: following this year’s We The Common album, they’ve just released The Feeling Kind EP. Check out this video of Thao and friends marching across the Bay Bridge in San Francisco below. [Stereogum]

  • Deltron 3030 (aka hip hop supergroup Del The Funky Homosapien, Dan The Automator, and Kid Koala) have released a video for the track “Melding Of The Minds,” a collaboration with Rage Against The Machine’s Zack De La Rocha off their new release Event II. Their Sunday, November 17th show at the Showbox is currently sold out, but you can hear an exclusive live session from the recently-reunited trio on KEXP that afternoon at 3:00 PM PT. [Stereogum]

  • As if performing on the Space Needle wasn’t weird enough, now Mark Arm of Mudhoney is trying to top that by appearing on the TV show E!’s The Soup tonight. Set your DVRs! [Spin]
  • The music world was saddened by the recent passing of Lou Reed on October 27th, but no one could be sadder than his long-time artistic partner and wife, musician Laurie Anderson. Anderson penned an incredibly moving piece on their relationship and his final days for Rolling Stone. The tribute issue is on newsstands now, and you can read her essay on their site.
