  • This summer, Oscilloscope Laboratories will release The Past Is a Grotesque Animal, a documentary about rock band Of Montreal and the creative antics of frontman Kevin Barnes. Check out the film’s trailer below, there’s even a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it appearance of Janelle MonĂ¡e. Unfortunately there won’t be a screening in Seattle, but the film will be available on iTunes on June 24 or you can pre-order HERE. [Pitchfork]

  • Singer-songwriter Sharon Van Etton has shared new music from her upcoming Are We There (out May 27 via Jagjaguwar). The album’s closing track “Every Time The Sun Comes Up” is a heavy, melancholy ballad that allows Van Etton to unleash the raw power of her voice. Also, watch the album’s trailer below. [Stereogum]

  • A week after releasing “You Know My Name,” Courtney Love has dropped “Wedding Day,” the second half of her double-A-side single. It’s a true banger of a song, complete with some gloriously intense Courtney Love screams. [Stereogum]

  • We’ve had some pretty amazing weather these last few days, but it seems that Thievery Corporation wants to suck us right back into winter. Their new video for “Depth of My Soul” features the song’s vocalist Shana Halligan, astride a beautiful horse, gallivanting across a gorgeous arctic landscape. Stunning visuals to match a stunning song. [CoS]
