  • Mary Timony is back with a new project, Ex Hex, whose debut album is appropriately titled Rips, ’cause this does. The former Helium frontwoman/Wild Flag guitarist brings her trademark shred to the single “Don’t Wanna Lose.” Rips comes out 10/7 on Merge Records. [Stereogum]

  • We’ve also got new music from Jenny Lewis to share: stream the title track from her upcoming solo album below. The third release from the former Rilo Kiley frontwoman is due July 29th on Warner Bros Records. [Under the Radar]

  • Local label Light in the Attic Records recently released Still Dreamin’ Wild: The Lost Recordings 1979-81, another excellent collection from overlooked ’70s-sibling duo Donnie & Joe Emerson. And today, they share the video for the track “Big Money.” You may remember that track was lovingly covered by Ariel Pink and Dâm-Funk, and lo and behold, the two make a cameo in the clip! Watch below. And if you live in Seattle, the Emerson Brothers will be playing their third show in 30 years at the Light in the Attic Warehouse this Saturday, July 12th. [Stereogum]

  • Washington’s own Unwound continue their reissue series with the fall release of No Energy, a collection of their 1995 and 1996 albums The Future of What and Repetition, plus singles and live tracks, photos, and an essay by David Wilcox. Check out what our own DJ Cheryl Waters wrote about the band back in 2006 here, and check out the previously unreleased track “Seen Not Heard” below. [Pitchfork]

  • Former Stereolab frontwoman Laetitia Sadier shares a dreamy new track from her third solo release, Something Shines, out in September on Drag City. Stream the track “Then I Will Love You Again” below. Hoping for something with a bit more synth? She also shares a track from her new band, Little Tornados, whose debut release also comes out in September. [Under the Radar]
