Toronto trio METZ return with a blistering new album, METZ II, out tomorrow on Sub Pop Records. Today, they share the clip for the track "The Swimmer," a glitchy, gritty video directed by Michael LeBlanc and Scott Cudmore. METZ will be in Seattle on Tuesday, August 4th at Neumos. [Spin]

Blur capture 12 years in 30 minutes with the documentary, The Magic Whip: Made In Hong Kong. The short film features interviews with all four band members as they detail the album's sound, creation, and inspiration. The clip also captures the band's travels across Asia. Watch: [Pitchfork]

John Vanderslice takes a surprising synth-pop approach to his cover of Jason Molina’s "Long Dark Blues," originally released by Songs: Ohia. He explained to Spin Magazine, "I really dislike covers. Usually they are too deferent to the source, too timid. They need to be a reaction to or an undermining of the original. This song was originally commissioned for a Molina comp and was rejected; I wasn’t surprised… Everyone hears the confessional folk, the Oldham, and the On The Beach-era Neil Young in Molina. I heard the Pink Floyd, the drugs, and the loneliness." Vanderslice will release the cover as a bonus track to the reissue of Mass Suicide Occult Figurines, out May 19th on Native Sound. [Stereogum]

My Morning Jacket's new album The Waterfall hits stores tomorrow, but you can get a sneak peek now via Spotify. The seventh studio album from the Southern rockers was co-produced by frontman Jim James and Tucker Martine.
