  • Ryan Adams announced that he will be covering Taylor Swift’s mega-hit album 1989 in its entirety. Although there’s no official release date, he’s been posting his progress on twitter. Below you can hear brief snippets of “All You Had To Do Was Stay” and “Out of the Woods.” Adam’s haunting vocals and Swifts’ songwriting talents are sure to make this a memorable album. [Stereogum]

  • Last night, Jon Stewart said goodbye to his hosting gig at The Daily Show. To close out the show, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band paid tribute to Steward by performing “Land of Hope and Dreams” and the classic “Born to Run.” Watch the sweet send-off below. [Pitchfork]

  • TIDAL has been off to a rough start, but now Prince has struck a deal with the streaming service. Prince will release his upcoming album HITNRUN exclusively on TIDAL on September 7. The music legend explained his decision in a statement saying:
    “After one meeting, it was obvious that Jay Z and the team he has assembled at TIDAL recognize and applaud the effort that real musicians put in2 their craft 2 achieve the very best they can at this pivotal time in the music industry.”
