Siouxsie Sioux, legendary lady of goth, has re-emerged after eight years of musical silence to provide her distinctive vocals to the eerie ballad "Love Crime." Listen below. The track was composed by Brian Reitzell for the series finale of the TV show Hannibal. Reitzell told TV Guide, "We knew that she was a fan of the show, and we reached out to see if she’d be interested in writing a song. Essentially, she hasn’t had a single in eight years, and she said she hadn’t been inspired to write in a long time, but that Hannibal had inspired her and she would write a new song." He told Entertainment Weekly, "And the good news is that I’m going to do a few more tracks with her. I’ve written a few more, and we’re not sure how we’re going to release the track, and that’s kind of unfortunate, but it will be out. We’ll get it out there somehow, soon." [Consequence of Sound]

In a trend I can seriously get behind, Sleater-Kinney guitarist Carrie Brownstein has announced a tour for her memoir Hunger Makes Me a Modern Girl, out October 27th via Penguin. And in each city, a different friend/fellow celebrity will lead a Q&A. (Sonic Youth's Kim Gordon did a similar tour for her memoir, with mixed results.) Guests include Questlove, Amy Poehler, Dave Eggers, and here in Seattle, we'll have novelist Maria Semple leading the talk on November 6th at The Neptune Theatre. [Pitchfork]

With her other band Grass Widow on hiatus, bassist Hannah Lew is keeping busy with her latest project Cold Beat. Stream the Bay Area band's forthcoming full-length below, in advance of its September 4th street date. The sophomore album, Into the Air, will be released via Lew's own label Crime On the Moon. It's a short clip, but here's your "Moment of Cute" for the day: Damon Albarn performs "Mr. Tembo" for the baby elephant who inspired the track, which appears on his most recent solo album, Everyday Robots. Albarn met the real Mr. Tembo on a trip to Tanzania, and footage of the playful pachyderm appears in the song's full-length video, which you can watch below. It's nice to see the now-grown-up elephant approves of the track in the short clip filmed by Albarn's daughter Missy. Watch: [Stereogum]
