  • It’s been over four years since Fleet Foxes dominated KEXP’s Top Albums of 2011 countdown, and we haven’t heard much from them since frontman Robin Pecknold left Seattle for Columbia University in New York. But, over the holiday weekend, he shared a cover of the 1956 single “Out of Sight, Out of Mind” by doo-wop group The Five Keys. Listen below: [Consequence of Sound]

  • Last week, Animal Collective teased their new album from the overhead speakers at Baltimore-Washington International Airport, and today they’ve made the announcement official: on February 19th, the band return with their tenth full-length, Painting With, on Domino Records. Stream the first single “FloriDada” below. The album was recorded in Hollywood’s EastWest studios earlier this year, and features special guests John Cale and saxophonist Colin Stetson. [Spin]

  • Brooklyn synthpop duo Chairlift have a new album coming out on January 22nd via Columbia. The concept album, Moth, features songs written from the perspective of the Greek mythological character Atalanta. Today, band members Caroline Polachek and Patrick Wimberly share the single “Romeo,” which you can stream below: [Pitchfork]

  • Australian psych-rockers Tame Impala share a fun, and slightly NSFW, video today for the track “The Less I Know the Better” off their most recent full-length, Currents. The clip portrays a high school love triangle between a football player, a cheerleader, and the school mascot, a gorilla named Trevor. Watch the sometimes-trippy drama unfold below. Currents is out now via Interscope. [Under the Radar]
